FeedbackOtter (“we”, “our”, “us”) provides a feedback and bug reporting tool for websites and web apps. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

By using FeedbackOtter, you agree to this policy.

1. What we collect

We collect two kinds of data:

a) Account data

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Password (stored securely and hashed)
  • Billing and subscription information (via Creem)

b) Feedback data

When someone submits feedback through a FeedbackOtter widget, we may collect:

  • The message they wrote
  • The page URL
  • Browser and OS
  • Screen size
  • Screenshot or screen capture (if enabled)
  • Console logs (if enabled)
  • Reporter name, email, or custom data (if provided by the site owner)

This data belongs to the customer who installed FeedbackOtter on their site. We act as a data processor for this data.

2. How we use data

We use data to:

  • Provide the FeedbackOtter service
  • Show feedback in your dashboard
  • Send notifications (email, Slack, GitHub)
  • Improve the product
  • Handle billing and account management
  • Prevent abuse and fraud

We do not sell your data.

3. Who can see feedback data

Feedback data is visible to:

  • The owner of the project
  • Team members invited to that project
  • Third-party services you connect (Slack, GitHub, etc.)

FeedbackOtter employees only access this data when required for support, debugging, or legal reasons.

4. Cookies

We use cookies for:

  • Authentication
  • Keeping you logged in
  • Security
  • Basic analytics

We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking across websites.

5. Third-party services

We use trusted third-party services to run FeedbackOtter, including:

  • Hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Email providers
  • Creem (payments)
  • Slack and GitHub (if you connect them)

These services only receive the data necessary to perform their function.

6. Data retention

You control your data.

  • If you delete a project, all feedback and reporter data for that project is deleted.
  • If you delete your account, all your projects and data are deleted.
  • Backups may exist for a short time but are automatically removed.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Export your data
  • Delete your data
  • Correct your data
